OLD PARIS PORCELAIN GROUP - MANUFACTORY OF LOCRE - ALLEGORY OF THE TIME - LATE 18TH CENTURY Paris porcelain, manufactory of Locré , rue Fontaine-au-Roy , locality " La Courtille ". On the terrace, mark at the crossed arrows , points oriented down, in blue under glaze. There is another mark in underglaze blue, crossed swords pointed down, with a dot (or a little star) between the two blades. Period, late 18th century. The group is composed of four characters arranged on a circular terrace. The main figure is a God reigning over the time. Winged figure, grey-haired and bearded, to the strong musculature, his nakedness is hidden by a cloth. In dominant situation, he stays on a cloud and holds in his hand a long parchment that he reads. On earth, three goddesses attend. A great book in hand, two of them are listening, ready to implement his wishes. A third seems already rushing towards the sky to set it in motion. Finally, we cannot in this composition to miss these three lilies on a royal blue cartridge, a symbol of absolute monarchy, which shows that the royal power remains in perfect harmony with the divine will.
