12 SILVER COFFEE SPOONS - CHARLES X PERIOD CIRCA 1830 - SILVERSMITH : JOZAN 12 silver coffee spoons, from the Charles X period, around 1830. Hallmark to the old man's head (1819-1838), punched on each spoon. Silversmith's hallmark : We can see the name of the silversmith, engraved on every spoon. We can note the hallmark of guarantie from Paris, used during the same period 1819-1838, plus a complementary hallmark to the giraffe, which is another control hallmark for silver. The two sides of the spoons are delicately chiseled with foliages motives and scrolls of ribbons, which edge a little escutcheon, wearing a monogram of calligraphied letters. 2nd cock hallmark , Paris 1809 The pierced mount stands on arched feet, hoof shaped, topped by heads of winged satyrs, the handle adorned at the bottom, with scalloped ribs, supports a ring, hemmed with palmettos. The nacelles have a chiseled edge composed of water leaves. The whole objects are finely chiseled. The four glass jars have a fluting. One of the jars is slightly ground glass, on the exterior edge, but this is absolutly not visible while the jar is placed in its mount. The jars are in good condition. Being of blown glass, they shows slight differences. The silversmith Antoine Hience was set up at the 2, Quai des Orfèvres, Paris 2ème. Its hallmark, punched on the two objects, has for symbol two crossed navy anchors, with below the uppercase letter H. Also on the two salt cellars, we can see the Paris hallmark, at the 2nd cock, 1st title (950/1000 of silver). This hallmark was used from the 1st november of 1809, until july 1819. PORTE-COUTEAUX BACCARAT EN CRISTAL AUX BUSTES D'ENFANTS BOUDEURS D'APRES HOUDON - ENSEMBLE DE 12 - EPOQUE 19ème Ensemble de 12 porte-couteaux en cristal, de la maison Baccarat, datant du 19ème siècle. Il s'agit du modèle 'Enfants boudeurs' d'après Jean-Antoine Houdon (1741-1828), référencé sur le catalogue de Baccarat dans le catalogue de 1916 page 74. Ce modèle du 19ème n'a jamais été signé du tampon Baccarat. Au 19ème siècle, Bccarat ne signait pas ses pièces, mais y collait une étiquette papier, qui est restée présente sous une base (voir photo). Les porte-couteaux sont à double buste de bébé, en cristal dépoli, par opposition à la barre centrale en cristal poli. Le nez d'un des bébé a subi un infime choc, et ce n'est réellement pas perceptible, et même pas détectable par le biais d'une photo. A part cela, ces très rares porte-couteux sont impeccables, sans éclats ni griffures. Longueur : 10 cm

Big set fish flatware, composed of two items, of 11,02 inches and 11,81 inchesin lenght, (28 cm and 30 cm), chiseled on their two sides. The Minerva hallmark stamps the two items, on their handles, and on their tips (fork and blade). We can see too the silversmith's hallmark on the two elements, hallmark showing the initials PG et a spoon as symbol. The silversmith is Pierre Gavard, who became member of the silversmith's guild in 1886. This set is in rococo style, as well for the handles, with scrolled shape and embossed foliate motives, as for the tips, with their curves and cons-curves shape, fully chiseled: The two sides feature different decors, of crocodile eating a fish, hidden in the bulrushes, a fish swimming among aquatic plants. The items have hollow handled. Very good condition. Lenght : 11,02 and 11,81 inches - (28 and 30 cm). Gross weight: 303 grams.

SET OF FOUR SALT CELLARS WITH CROWNED ANGELS AND DOLPHINS - NEOCLASSICAL
LOUIS XVI STYLE - 4 SALT SPOONS - 19th CENTURY We present a set of four salt cellars of chiseled silver, with spoons, in neoclassical style from the 19th century. The four pieces are stamped with the silver guarantee hallmark, Minerva, and the silversmith's hallmark, showing the initials PFres. The spoons are stamped Minerva too. The cellars are oval shaped and quadripode. They are equiped of blue glass liners, from the origin. Very beautiful compositions adorn them, made with an angel, bordered by two big dolphins, a crown above him. We find this gorgeous motif on the two main faces of these silverware pieces. Actually, this putto is Eros, who wears on the shoulder his quiver. From either side of the angels are hanged flowered garlands, which link at the top of the little sides, where they hang from knotted ribbons. Around the top edge, a big egg-and-dar frieze, accompanied with a beading frieze, complete the decor. All this ornamentation is very well chiseled. We joins four nice salt spoons, column shaped, with fluted shaft and capital. These items are in a very good condition, with no lacks. Measurements : 2,36 inches in lenght by 1,97 in width, and 1,67 in height - (6 cm x 5 x 4,3). Net weight of silver : 124 grams.

12 coffee spoons and a sugar tongs, of silver, presented in their original coffret, its inside compartmented in the form of the items. This set dates from the early 20th century. The style is Louis XVI, with a delicate chiseled foliate decor on the two sides, and a ribbed edging. The tips of the sugar tongs are in lion's paws. All this ornamentation is thoroughly chiseled. All the items bears two hallmarks, the silversmith's hallmark, with the initials CB, and the Minerva's hallmark, that allow to certify a 950/ 1000 purity silver. This set is in a very good condition. SILVER PLATED SAMOVAR BY CHRISTOFLE - END 19th CENTURY Very beautiful silverplated samovar, by the famous french silvermith Christofle, dating from the end of the 19th century. The samovar is made in two parts, the support with its burner, and the teapot. The tripod support, curved arms and flattened ball feet, bears the burner. The globular teapot, a flattened sphere, is placed on a pedestal, and is provided with a large cylindrical handle in the vertical axis. The arms of this handle, just as the ones of the support, present nice profile in curves and cons-curves. Same profile for the big pouring spout. The neck of the teapot is particularly ornamented, with its sixteen fluted ribs, scalloped at the edge. The scalloped handle of the lid recalls this motif. Nice friezes of ropes adorn the body of the teapot. The two parts of the samovar bear the hallmarks of the silversmifh, and the numbering: - Stamp 'Christofle' engraved. - Hallmark, with the CC initials, for Charles Christofle, and with a scale as symbol, is the best proof of quality, these hallmarks pertaining to the golden epoch of the brand. This model is repertoried in the catalog Christofle from the year 1891, page 55 Perfect condition, with no dents. Measurements : 12,79 inches in height, by 8,86 inches in width - (32.5 cm by 22.5) . SHEFFIELD SILVERPLATED TEA SET - JAMES DEAKIN & SONS SILVERSMITH - TWISTED RIBS MOTIF - END 19th CENTURY Very nice silver plate tea set, from Sheffield, by James Deakin ans Sons, silversmith. It is in a very good condition. It is composed of three pieces, the teapot, the milk pot, and the sugar bowl. An elegant motif of twisted ribs, in fluting, occupes the biggest part of the pieces. The decor of the lid, a radial pattern of gadroons, accompanies well this twisted ribs motif. The three items have a pedestal with a main half-hollow molding, and a nice scrolled handle, reminding of the foliages. The items bears on the underside, the hallmarks of the silversmith: Initials JD , & S, accompanied with the symbol of a table bell. These hallmarks allow to determine the silversmith, and to date the set: James Deakin and Sons, from Sheffield, around the years 1870/1880. The items are stamped with th oval stamp EP, for electro lated. They are numbered too. Very good condition, with no dents, and a good condition of the plating. Le Pavillon de Hanovre , bd des Italiens, est l'adresse historique de la maison Christofle. Les anses des salières sont en forme de pyramides, ornées de feuillages et couronnées d'urnes couvertes. Les bases à degrés, aux moulures en doucine, sont ornées de cannelures et de rinceaux. Les nacelles sont à motifs d'arcatures ornées de fleurons, avec une frise de billettes sur leur bordure. Le moutardier a le même décor, avec un rang d'entrelacs au-dessus du niveau d'arcature. Le couvercle est à motifs de godrons rayonnants. Nacelles et moutardier reposent sur quatre pieds. SERVICE A THE ET CAFE ORIVIT - EPOQUE ART NOUVEAU - DECOR HOUX Sur un plateau (57 cm sur 35) de forme mouvementée , à fond bois et bordure de métal doré. Cafetière : 22 x 16 /972 gr Théière : 15 x 20 /711 gr Sucrier : 12 x 16 / 385 gr Pot à lait : 12 x 10 / 221 gr (accident au col recollé) Couvercles et bases sont en métal doré rappelant le motif peint (houx). Très belle céramique à fond rouge profond , prises noires, décor naturaliste vert et bleu nuit (houx). Orivit société allemande de Cologne, fondée en 1895. par Ferdinand Schmitz Hobert . En 1898, la marque Orivit a été répertoriée comme une marque faisant référence àune ligne d'objets ART NOUVEAU . Médaille d'or à l'Exposition universelle de Paris de 1900. Hermann Gradl et Georges Charles Coudray sont connus pour avoir conçu des pièces pour Orivit. Theo Blum, Georg Graseggar, Walter Scherf, Vicor Heinrich Seifert, et Johann Christian ont été associés à l'entreprise. Comme le mouvement Art nouveau , la société elle-même fut de courte durée : En faillite en 1905, l'entreprise est achetée par WMF. Musées : Le Bröhan-Museum, Berlin Le Kreismuseum, Zons possède une magnifique collection de pièces Orivit. Musée Victor Horta, Bruxelles. Musée d'Orsay, Paris abrite l'une des plus belles collections d'art nouveau.

GALLIA CHRISTOFLE (éditeur) / Christian FJERDINGSTAD (designer) - SAUCIERE CYGNE - 1935 Poinçons Christofle et Gallia : Saucière et cuillère) portent le poinçon OC (orfèvrerie Christofle) , et la saucière porte en outre les mentions " Prod. Christofle " et " Gallia " "France ". Longueur “développée” 29.5 cm Saucière : Hauteur : 6 cm, Longueur : 20 cm Cuillère : Longueur : 19,5 cm D’origine danoise, Christian Fjerdingstad (1891-1968) est un artiste à part dans l’histoire de l’orfèvrerie. C’est au Salon d’Automne de 1921 qu’il expose ses premières pièces, et l’un de ses premiers acheteurs sera Jacques Doucet. Peu après il est engagé comme collaborateur par la maison Christofle et devient l’un des principaux créateurs de l’entre-deux-guerres. En 1925, à l’Exposition des Arts Décoratifs, il occupe avec ses pièces d’argent massif la place d’honneur du pavillon de l’orfèvrerie Christofle, alors premier orfèvre mondial. Les créations de Fjerdingstad sont alors placées au cœur de l’orfèvrerie de l’époque. Elles figurent encore au catalogue Christofle dans les années quatre vingt. Collaborateur d’une grande maison jusqu’en 1941, pour laquelle il est créateur (au moment où Luc Lanel en est directeur artistique), Fjerdingstad est aussi un artiste indépendant qui développe de nombreux modèles dans son atelier. Comptant parmi les chefs de file du renouveau de l’orfèvrerie, avec Georg Jensen, Gérard Sandoz et Jean Puiforcat, Fjerdingstad va utiliser un vocabulaire formel très novateur. Un modèle en ambre et argent de cette saucière est présentée en 1925 à la Maison Christofle, et la version commerciale ne sort qu’en 1935 dans le catalogue Gallia, (marque crée par Christofle en 1900 et dont l’activité cesse en 1937). Pièce emblématique de l'oeuvre de Fjerdingstad, d'une forme très épurée et inspirée par l’observation de la nature.

Les motifs en reliefs ornent les 2 faces des couverts. Le motif est en outre enrichi d'une coquille St-Jacques Lourde argenterie en métal blanc (ou maillechort) , alliage inoxydable et très dur , qui explique que les pièces ne soient ni usées ni déformées. Excellent état de l'argenture.
