STOUP FROM AUVILLAR'S FAIENCE - 18th CENTURY PERIOD Stoup from Auvillar's faience, in the south-western of France, from the 18th century. The pottery of Auvillar produced exclusively a high-fired faience, with adornment painted on enamel before it is baked. In shape of alcove of the renaissance statues, the head-board has a shell-shaped adornment. At this place is located the christ, dressed in yellow, on his cross, painted of manganese streaks. Blue streak on all the rims The holy water basin is semi-cylindric shaped, decorated at the top and the bottom with curved moldings . At the very bottom of the stoup, an angel's head sustains the basin We have to report some traces of limestone on the edges of the basin, some lacks of enamel on the mouldings, and the repair of one rosette (the one on the left side). CENTURY - LOUIS XV PERIOD - EXPERTISED From the mid 18th century, beautiful flowered motives oval dish, handpainted in blue camaïeu, with scalloped edging. A central main bouquet completed with a magnificent frieze of pelmets constitue the ornamentation. Very good condition, with some inconspicuous lacks of enamel on the edging. MOUSTIERS FAIENCE PLATE TO THE CROSSED FLAGS - ROCOCO STYLE - MID 18th CENTURY Scalloped edging rococo plate, with polychromic handpainted decor to the crossed flags, on white background. The polychromic design consists of an ornamentation of two flags in the middle of the well, and four garlands of foliages on the lip. The four colors are yellow, green, blue and manganese. The two crossed flags are surrounded with quiver and arrows. In the centre is an escutcheon. These attributes take place before foliages. of two crossed flags, with garlands behind, Most of the time, trophies and flags, drums and other war attributes, do the ornamentation of these plates, explaining the frequent denomination given to this theme : "Decor to the flags" .
