CLOCK FROM THE 18th CENTURY - THE VICTORIOUS PEACE - Bronze clock , gilded with mercury, LOUIS XVI period, 18th century. Allegorical theme "VICTORY and PEACE." Enamelled dial - Movement signed SAVARIN in BOURG. Suspension of the balance wheel with a silk thread . Marble terrace, of animated form, resting on 4 feet and adorned with a frieze of intertwined waves in bronze. The allegorical theme is developed on a basis of 2 levels, in bronze , the pedestal of winners. Two subjects are leaning against the drum of the clock, decorated with garlands of laurel knotted with ribbons. On the left, the angel , perched on stacked books which are the peace treaties, symbolises wisdom. To the right , a centurion wearing a helmet, with a look great, trophies of his enemies filed at his feet, which symbolise victory. Very good condition of this item, and very good conservation of the gilding with mercury. Height: 17.30 inches. Terrace: 16.80 x 7.9 inches. Weight: 33 pounds

CLOCK IN GILDED BRONZE - 1st FRENCH EMPIRE - 1800-1815 - DIANA THE HUNTRESS
Diane sat elbow on a boar's head rhyton (ancient symbol associated to the character), holds in his right hand a long arrow. Her dress, a toga, and her hair , are typically Empire, in the style of ancient Rome. Near the dog of Diana, who observe fondly his mistresss, we see the quiver, bow and a laurel wreath woven. The base of the clock is decorated with a nice bas-relief , very well chiselled, depicting a landscape framed by two columns, where Diane rescues a stranger lost, lying on the ground. Movement of the clock signed on the dial "Badier à Paris" Badier was a famous parisian watchmaker established rue Saint-Germain l'Auxerrois, in Paris center, in front of the Louvre. Needles birdseye Breguet type, balance, tone and key provided Movement with wire suspension in perfect working condition, revised by our watchmaker and 1 year warranty. The Atmos clock is a clock produced by the swiss watch company, Jaeger-LeCoultre. It is developed in 1928 by the swiss Jean-Léon Reutter who had already filed a patent on the subject two years earlier. This clock takes energy for movement of its mechanisms from the variations in temperature and atmospheric pressure. A temperature change of one degree is sufficient to provide the pendulum an operating time of about two days.
