BACHELOR COFFEEPOT 'MARABOUT' OF SILVER - MINERVA'S HALLMARK - SILVERSMITH : GEORGES FALKENBERG - 1894-1926 - ART DECO PERIOD
Bachelor coffepot of silver, with a flat base, called 'marabout', realised by the famous artist and silversmith of the modernist art deco period Georges Falkenberg (1894-1928), who worked with Daum. Indeed, this coffeepot has a very good design, with its original shape of bell, with a strongly flared base. The base and the top of the body are underlined of a beading. The handle of the lid is a flower bud. The handle is sticked on a tenon lateraly welded on the body of the coffee pot. It is made of turned ebony This object bears two hallmarks, the one of the silversmith Georges Falkenberg, and the one of the silver guarantee, showing the Minerva's profile (for a 950/1000 purity silver). Very good condition, with very inconpiscuous scratches, that you can guess on the pictures. Gross weight, with the handle of wood: 389 grams. Net weight : 358 grams. Diameter of the base: 3,94 inches - (10 cm). Height: 5,91 inches - (15 cm).
