SET OF 8 SILVER PLATED ANIMALS KNIFE RESTS BY FRENCH SILVERSMITH CHRISTOFLE - CREATED BY Edouard-Marcel SANDOZ - MODERNIST ART DECO PERIOD These lovely silver plated knife rests are animals themed, with 4 lions, 2 pigs, a rabbit and a bear. The models dates from modernist art deco period, circa 1925, and were created by Edouard-Marcel Sandoz (1881-1971), one of the best french animalist sculptors of that time. The famous french silversmith Christofle realised this set. The items are all hallmarked, with Christofle hallmark, and with the Gallia hallmark aswell, Gallia being the silversmithing manufactory, whose Christofle was owner Perfect condition.
