CENTURY - MARCOLINI PERIOD -
ORNAMENTED WITH HANDPAINTED BOUQUETS
From Meissen, Marcolini period (1774-1814) - Set

Porcelain coffee cup and its saucer, ornamented
with handpainted colored bouquets, and with some
other little flowered twigs added here and there.
The cylindrical shape of the cup, called '
litron ' in french, and the rectangular shape of
the fluted handle which reminds some elements of
the greek architecture,
as well as the tronconic
shape of the saucer lip, allow to date this
object from the third quarter of 18th century,
during the neoclassical period.
Underneath the two pieces of the set, we can see
the blue crossed swords stamp of Meissen, with a
star above which specifies the Marcolini period
These stamps are under glaze.
Very good condition, with no cracks, no chips,
no erasures of the handpainted ornamentation
