BRONZE SCULPTURE AFTER THE ANTIQUE- BACCHUS WITH A SNAKE - ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXCAVATIONS FROM HERCULANUM
Bacchus at the snake, bronze sculpture after the antique. Very beautiful ancient casting, copied from an excavation object. On an engraved pedestal, a strapping and muscular man, dressed with a loin cloth and shod with sandals, is holding an oil lamp, extended arm. The old man wears a grpewine crown : He is Bacchus Looking more closely, we do realise that the handle of the lamp is nothing less than a snake This bronze culpture was made by par the casting Chiurrazzi in Naples.
