ARISTOCRATIC MONKEYS - PARIS PORCELAIN - END
18th CENTURY
Satiric figurines representing a couple of
aristocrats, made up like monkeys The two
chimpanzees, dressed with marquis' clothes, are
sat down on armchairs, placed on big rococo
style socles.
The nobleman, sat down with crossed legs, is
quietly reading a letter, while his wife is
fanning herself.
These very well decorated figurines are made
by a Paris porcelain manufactory, and date from
the end of the 18th century, to the very early
19th.
The manufactory remains indetermined, though
the objects are engraved with handwritten
initials under their base, which are the painter
initials
These very amusing subjetcs, as well as rare
and very original, are in a very good condition.
