PORCELAIN WIPER-PEN - FRENCH
RESTORATION PERIOD CIRCA 1820 - SIGNED AWF PARIS
Rare wiper-pen, of porcelain, early 19th, signed
underneath with the stamp 'AWF Paris'.
Of cylindric form, the pot has a reel molding,
et is placed on a base with a quarter-round
profile.
It contained horsehair,
brush shaped, to wipe the pen.
Motives of friezes are handpainted on a tender
pink background. A frieze of links takes the
main part,
surrounded below and above,
with two friezes of green beads.
Three gilded streaks divide the background.
Very good condition, excellent condition of the
handpainted ornamentation, with no erasures.
