SILVERED BRONZE MARRIAGE BOWL - BRONZE FOUNDRY BARBEDIENNE - ART NOUVEAU PERIOD - late 19th century Barbedienne bowl, called "marriage bowl" Made of bronze, silvered, and datind from the late of the nineteenth century. Art nouveau style It is decorated with traceries of ears of corn, symbol of richness and success The bowl has a circular shape, very flared. It's put on a cylindriclal basis with a talon. Then there are two nice levels with curved mouldings, which are chiselled of vegetal motives, buds, leaves The bowl has two large handles, very chiselled with vegetal stylized motives At the top, the last level is engraved with these inscriptions : 'F. Barbedienne' '30 mars 1911 - 1936' Weight: 387 gr Width : 15 cm from one handle to the other Diameter : 10 cm |
