RUSSIA MOSCOW 1845 - SNUFFBOX OF NIELLOED SILVER - ACANTHUS LEAVES DECOR ALL FACES . Snuffbox of silver, with a very elegant chiseled decor in foliate scrolls of acanthus leaves, forming beautiful arabesques, on all faces, including the underside. This decor was nielloed but it is now partially erased. The box presents four different hallmarks: Silver guarantee hallmark: 84 solothniques. Town's hallmark : Moscow 1845. Silversmith's hallmark and Assayer's hallmark: Initials HM et initials A.K The inside is in vermeil (covered of a layer of gold). We find these different hallmarks on the two constitutive parts of the object. Weight : 77 grams Measurements : 3,35 inches by 1,38 - (8 cm by 3.5 cm) - Height: 0,99 inch - (2,5 cm)
