BOX OF SILVER - GUILLOCHE PATTERN - SLIDE SYSTEM

MODERNIST PERIOD CIRCA 1930
Sliding system stamp box, in silver, with a
pretty guilloche pattern.
It dates from the thirties, art deco period, and
has indeed a sober and elegant modernist style.
The decor looks like a lozenge checkerboard,
although the lines forming this motive are
ondulated.
The edges are treated with a smooth surfacing.
The inside is lacquered in ivory.
Silversmith's hallmark, showing initials SI. The
silversmith remains to determine.
Silver guarantee hallmark, bearing the weevil
motif, on the two constitutive parts of the box.
The number 935 is engraved, for the silver at a
purity degree of 935/1000. This is better than
the 925/1000 sterling silver.
Very good condition, with no dents.
Measurements: 2,36 inches by 1,38 ,and 0,20 inch
in depth - (6 cmx 3,5 cm and 0,5cm in depth).
