HUILIER en ARGENT MASSIF - ORFEVRE Jean-Baptiste CHERET - Paris 1762-1768
Armoiries aux lions rampants adossés, à un écu couronné , gravées au centre du plateau.
L'huilier est complet, avec ses bouchons poinçonnés.
Plusieurs poinçons sont répétés sur les différents éléments constitutifs de l'ouvrage, plateau, nacelles, pieds, et bouchons :
-Poinçon de charge : PARIS 1762-1768
-Poinçon de décharge profil de tête de chien de 1762-1768
-Poinçon d'orfèvre : JBC symbole: une clé

Jean Baptiste François CHERET fut reçu Maître Orfèvre le 13 juillet 1759 .

Du plus pur style Louis XV rocaille , l'ouvrage présente un beau décor finement ciselé :
Pieds à enroulements.
Plateau oblong chantourné, à beaux enroulements profonds sur les bordures.
Nacelles à 4 pilastres torsadés, ornées de branches fleuries.
Couvercles à cannelures à fretel en pigne.
Nacelles à 4 montants feuillagés et fruits;
L'objet doit provenir d'une maison aristocratique, présentant au centre de son plateau
des armoiries aux lions adossés à un écu couronné.
L'ensemble est en parfait état.

SILVER CRUET STAND - MIDDLE 18th - SILVERSMITH Jean-Baptiste CHERET

Armorial bearings at the rampant lions.
The cruet stand is complete, with its caps.
Many hallmarks are repeated on all part constitutives of the item, base, nacelles, feet, caps:
-Hallmark of charge :Paris (years 1762 to 1768 ).
-Hallmark of discharge at the profile at the head dog (years 1762 to 1768)
Silversmith hallmark : initials JBC for Jean-Baptiste CHERET. This silversmith was invested in 1759.
Of Louis XV style, purely " rocaille " , the object presentes a beautiful finely chiselled decor.
The tray of oblong form of elliptic nave, is scalloped with beautiful windings on the edges ,
and we find again these windings on the feet.
The nacelles have twisted pilasters adorned with flowered branches.
The caps are with twisted splines.
The tray is engraved in it center with armorial bearings at the rampant lions around a crown.
We cannot say at what aristocratic house that corresponds.
